KMT, Kuwait—Kuwait Motor Town successfully hosted the 6th round of the KMTC 2K Series Championship on Saturday, March 16th, 2024, concluding the final circuit race of the 23/24 season.
Round 6
A thrilling final round of the KMTC 2K Series Championship saw the first night race on Kuwait Motor Town's South Circuit layout. Six race drivers competed to clinch the championship's final points.
Kuwait's Ahmed AlGhanem, the championship standings leader, finished the season top of the table, leading in points since Round 1, and was crowned the KMTC 2K Series Champion for the 2023/2024 season. Race driver Mohammad AlAbdalrazzaq displayed a consistent performance throughout the season, managing to place 2nd overall in the championship standings. Ahmad AlAyoub showcased his driving skills in a fantastic performance, sweeping both heats of round 6, achieving a perfect 50 points, and advancing from 5th to 3rd place on the overall championship standings.

Qualifying Round
Ahmad AlAyoub led the qualifying round in the Toyota 86, achieving the fastest lap time of 1:16.702 for pole position on the starting grid, followed by Qatar's Ibrahim AlMannai in the Toyota 86 with the fastest lap time of 1:17.390 for second position. Nasser AlSaeed qualified in 3rd position in the Honda Civic, achieving the best lap time of 1:17.622, followed by the championship points leader, Ahmad AlGhanem, in the Honda S2000, with the best lap time of 1:18.264, placing 4th on the starting grid. Mohammad AlAbdalrazzaq managed to qualify in 5th place in the Toyota 86, achieving a time of 1:18.541, followed by 6th place Mohammad AlAmiri in the Toyota 86 with the best lap time of 1:18.635.
Race 1
A surprising turn of events from the start of race 1, as both Ahmad AlGhanem and Nasser AlSaeed did not start (DNS) after experiencing mechanical issues in the pitlane prior to the formation lap.
Ahmad AlAyoub did not disappoint with an excellent performance, leading race 1 from start to finish with a total time of 12:58.473 and a fastest lap time of 1:17.341. Coming in second place, Mohammad AlAbdalrazzaq had a total time of 13:20.184 and a fastest lap time of 1:19.176, advancing one position from the starting formation. Qatar's Ibrahim AlMannai placed third on the podium with a total time of 13:22.946 and a fastest lap time of 1:17.541, followed by Mohammad AlAmiri with a total time of 13:29.891 and a fastest lap time of 1:18.742 for fourth place.
Race 2
Ahmad AlAyoub started race 2 from the pole position once again after finishing 1st place in race 1. A thrilling battle ensued during race 2, with all 4 participants racing neck to neck until AlAmiri's unfortunate spin into the gravel on turn 1 led to a safety car deployment on the 5th lap. AlAyoub finished the race in first place with a total time of 14:59.773 and a fastest lap of 1:17.378. Closely followed by Qatar's AlMannai with a 0.313-second difference to finish in 2nd place with a total time of 15:00.086 and a fastest lap time of 1:16.981. Mohammad AlAbdalrazzaq managed to place in 3rd with a total time of 15:02.871 and a fastest lap time of 1:17.851 to secure 2nd on the overall championship leaderboard.
